The 'Cat & The Butterfly' was the first painting created by me with 'pastel stick only' on Velour paper.
Until now all my painitngs had been created on Pastlemat paper using all types of pastels.
Due to the amount of layering involved, this method was time consuming which meant paintings cost more.
This 'piece' was produced in half the time of Pastlemat.
I can only use soft pastel sticks on velour paper, but this method was ideal for offering less expensive pet portrait paintings to clients.
The surface of the paper feels like velvet and produces a soft edge. Ideal for most types of fur work.
