Choosing A Photograph

A good quality photograph, the more options are available to you. If you have several photographs submit them all and we can choose the best one for your painting.

Photographs can be submitted using the Contact form, by post or URL link. Any problems give us a call.

If you don't have any photographs, too small or blurry, we have a photo shoot service available to all pet portrait clients. If you choose the 'Pastlemat' option (see below) the shoot is fully inclusive of the painting.

Availability Calendar

Commissioning a painting for a special occassion? To give you some idea of timescale Pastlemat commissions can take up to 12 weeks depending how complex the 'piece' is to create, in comparision a 'Special' 2 - 4 weeks. Further time may be needed if you have booked a photo shoot with Steve.

The calendar tells you how many commission slots are available for bookings throughout the year and early next year. This only applies to pet and people portraits. Some commissions have been placed well in advance and will not show on the calendar yet. We are already taking bookings for late 2023.

Style & Pricing

Pet portraits, two styles available:
1. Pastelmat - full range of pastels using both stick and pencil, best choice for retaining fine detail.
2. 'Specials' Velour - pastel stick only, less time to produce, doesn't have the fine detail of Pastlemat but very good for painting fur.

People portraits, two styles available:
1. Pastelmat colour - full range of pastels using both stick and pencil, best choice for retaining fine detail.
2. Pastelmat B/W - black and white version, takes less time to paint as there isn't any colour matching.
