Velour paper has a surface made of synthetic fibres that feel like velvet to the touch, fantastic to use with soft pastel sticks.
The interaction with the fibres create a soft edge adding realism to painted fur.
Fine details are not defined the same as Pastlemat paper due to the softness therefore the subject is painted larger to compensate for the width of the pastel sticks.
Paintings can be produced in far less time and this reflects in the price.
